Help us sew face masks!
These masks are made using 2-ply polypropylene surgical wrap. This fabric has been generously donated to us by Flagstaff Medical Center. Both the single-ply and double-ply face mask patterns were created by Tina La Chance and Tasha Miller Griffith of Threaded Together.
Double-ply with ties
Two pieces of 9" x 7" surgical wrap fabric
Two 36" x 1" ties cut from surgical wrap
3-4" pipe cleaner
HINT: Top ties should be 18" and bottom ties 15". Fold tie in half and place TOP edge of mask at the halfway point!
Disclaimer: Hand-made masks are not considered PPE and should not be used as a replacement for FDA-approved masks, like N95s. Threaded Together makes no claims that these polypropylene masks will prevent viral infection. Please refer to CDC guidelines for information regarding appropriate PPE, including face masks.
